Train journeys between Exeter and Exmouth are being disrupted by a fault in the signalling system.
Train operator GWR says it is unable to run services on the Exeter to Exmouth branch line.
The company said: "Limited road transport is operating, however this has been difficult to source.
"If boarding at an unstaffed station, please make use of the Help Point to speak with someone.
"Stagecoach route 57: Exeter (Bus Station), Topsham (Station), Exton (Stop on A376), Lympstone (Stop on A376), Exmouth (Parade) are conveying passengers via any reasonable route until further notice."
