A social group for adults with disabilities hosted more than 100 people as it celebrated its 35th anniversary.

Exmouth Gateway Club had a party at Exmouth Rugby Club, its home for the past 32 years.

Although the club's formation was on April 17, Mondays are the club night, giving them the perfect excuse to roll out the celebration on April 15.

Among the party attendees were the members and volunteers that keep the club functioning, as well as supporters which included county councillors Richard Scott and Jeff Trail, Exmouth Rugby Club's president Roger Holman, and Rev Steve Jones from Holy Trinity.

To commemorate the 35 year milestone, the club introduced a new clothing range.

Thanks to donations and sponsorship, the clothes could be purchased by members at a discounted price.

Club leader Emma, who has dedicated 31 years to the club, managing it for nearly 20 years, was thrilled when her family made a substantial donation to the club, which was recognised by having their names on the shirts.

The attendees enjoyed a buffet courtesy of EX8 1AR Deli Store, alongside cakes from Bake Someone Happy Exeter, and refreshments from Co-op Magnolia Walk.

Entertainment was provided by D & M Disco and Nutty Nuts' face painting.

Gavin Rough, one of the club's members, performed a song that he had written, which was all about Exmouth Gateway Club.

The evening culminated with a grand party celebrating the club's 35 years.

Exmouth Gateway Club, a self-funded and volunteer-run group, hosts a series of activities on their club nights such as discos, karaoke, bingo, and arts and crafts.

There are also social nights where members socialise and develop interpersonal skills and friendships.

The group goes on outings and bi-annual respite holidays facilitated by committed volunteers.

The club also organises three football teams who compete in the Devon Ability Counts League.

The club is proud to be an affiliate member of Exmouth Rugby Club, which also hosts its disability football team.

The Exmouth Tigers will soon celebrate their 10th anniversary.
