Bringing down the curtain on a cold and wet January, Budleigh Salterton Bowls Club hosted a team of six players from Sidmouth for a Men’s Triples match.
Played on two rinks, both games were evenly matched and at half-time, there was little difference in the scores, with Budleigh ahead by a small margin.
The tea break almost did the trick for the Sidmouth players, who fought back over the final 9 Ends. However, Budleigh managed to hang on to their lead and enjoyed the narrowest of victories in both games of 12-11.
Tony Mackness, Captain at Budleigh, commented: “We look forward to matches against Sidmouth, who always put-out such a friendly and competitive group of players. We look forward to playing them next in the outdoor season.”
Great stuff from both clubs and those happy warm days on the outside greens are getting closer.
