Daring dog saved from roof by Wellington Fire Station

The dog, from Buckwell, is believed to have jumped onto the porch roof from an open upstairs window. Wellington Town Council alerted the fire station while putting out a call on social media for the dog's owners to come home.

Stolen bank card used at NatWest Yeovil for withdrawals totalling £10,800

Detectives at Dorset Police investigating the theft and subsequent fraudulent use of a bank card have shared CCTV images of a man they would like to identify. A bank card and PIN were intercepted in the post at an address in West Horsley in Surrey sometime between Monday, April 15, and Monday, April 22, of this year.

Georgina Miles returned to her roots to tell the story of her adventure in Antarctica where she led an expedition. After returning from her 2011 expedition she went to work at the internationally renowned Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, near Oxford, where she helped monitor the ozone layer.

Taunton's Holway Centre 'immensely proud' of year 11 leavers at prom

The Prom was held here at the Holway Centre for our small cohort of Year 11 leavers.  They arrived in a variety of modes of transport including an old London taxi and mingled with parents, carers, teachers, teaching staff and teachers from their previous schools.  There was a light lunch with mocktails and ice cream to follow.  Speeches were made and leaver's certificates handed out.  Although it was an informal and very relaxed Prom everyone made maximum effort to look their very best and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day.
