A ceremony was held at Exmouth Museum on Friday, March 31 to mark its reopening for the 2023 season.
It was also a chance to officially open the museum's ew reception room and visitor centre, in what used to be the stables and tack room of the building.
The event was rung in by the Town Crier Roger Bourgein, and the ceremonial ribbon was cut by museum stalwart Geoff Perriam and local MP Simon Jupp.
Geoff has been involved with the museum for 40 years and has served as a steward, committee member and assistant curator. Committee member Carole Evershed made a speech thanking him for his 'wonderful contribution' to the museum's success, and then surprised him by presenting a certificate of achievement in recognition of his work.
The guests then viewed all the museum's exhibits and new displays for 2023.
Exmouth Museum is open from now until the end of October; visit www.exmouthmuseum.co.uk for further information.
