Handpicked sunflowers from Darts Farm, at Topsham, have raised record-breaking funds for Hospiscare.
Over the last 10 years, brothers Michael, James and Paul Dart have donated more than £26,000 from Darts Farm’s pick-your-own sunflowers, in aid of chosen charity, Hospiscare.
This year’s crop of thousands raised a ‘record-breaking’ £6153 for the charity, helping Hospiscare provide free end-of-life care and family support.
The Darts brothers said they were ‘delighted’ the sunflowers contributed to ‘this valuable cause’.
They said pick-your-own sunflowers had become one of the highlights of the summer for Darts Farm visitors and locals; children and adults enjoyed wandering in the field to choose their own sunflowers to take home with a donation to Darts Farm’s chosen charity, Hospiscare.
James Dart said: “We choose to grow sunflowers as they are happy flowers and the perfect gift to bring joy to someone.
“The sunflowers provide not only beauty, but much needed food for wildlife and under-threat. bees.”
