Exmouth’s Famous Old Barrel pub has reopened its doors.

The pub – an ‘iconic’ music venue in Princes Street, adjacent to the London Inn car park – closed suddenly last October, due to financial problems.

This week, Star Pubs and Bars – the pub business of Heineken UK, which owns the Barrel – confirmed that the pub has reopened under temporary management, while it looks for permanent management.

Some music gigs have already taken place, with more to come.

“The Famous Old Barrel in Exmouth reopened in February under temporary management while we continue to look for a new, permanent operator to take over the ongoing running of this popular pub,” said a Star Pubs spokesperson.

“Anyone interested in taking on the Famous Old Barrel should contact 08085 949596.”

Forthcoming gigs include: Open Mic Night (8pm, Thursday, March 15), House of Kane (8.30pm, Saturday, March 17), Tim Royce (9pm, Sunday, March 18), Open Mic Night (8pm, Thursday, March 22), Furious Pussies (9pm, Saturday, April 7) and Rock the Night (9pm, Saturday, August 11).
