An Exmouth pub has received recognition from real ale fans.
The Bicton Inn has been named by the Exeter and East Devon branch of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) as its Winter Pub of the Year for 2017.
The pub will become one of six up for the branch’s pub of the year award, the winner of which would then go on to compete for regional, and potentially national, pub of the year titles. The branch said The Bicton Inn had come close to winning awards in previous years, and this year the ‘continued hard work’ of landlady Alison Brockbank and her staff had finally paid off.
A spokesperson for the branch said: “We are absolutely delighted to be able to give the Bicton Inn our award for Winter Pub of the Year.
“It is a tribute to Alison, her family and staff for their hard work in making this such a great pub - congratulations.”
