Primary school pupils from Exmouth have been given an insight into how local government works on a visit to East Devon District Council.
Youngsters from Littleham Church of England Primary School were among pupils from five schools who took part in a Takeover Challenge Day at the council’s headquarters at Knowle in Sidmouth.
Throughout the day children took part in a number of activities, including a mock council meeting with the council’s chairman, Councillor Andrew Moulding.
He said: “This is the seventh time we have held this event and asked children from local schools into the council to experience some of our services. It’s always a day that’s thoroughly enjoyed by councillors, the children, teachers and council staff involved. Thank you to all the schools that came along this year and made it the fantastic day that it was by participating so well.”
