Spectators are invited to watch some of London’s finest amateur boxers take on western counties in a tournament this weekend.
The takes place at Ocean this Saturday (October 8).
The staging of the England Boxing Quarter Finals Development Championships in the town represents a coup for Exmouth Boxing Club which won its bid to host the event.
There will be boxers from the Junior, Youth, and seniors, both male and female, with more than 30 bouts taking place.
Exmouth Boxing Club and other local boxing clubs will also be supporting with local interclub boxing bouts.
Club member Phil Weeks, who is the event’s MC, said: “It’s rare for Exmouth to host boxers of this calibre and we don’t know when we’ll have the chance to host a competition like this again so we hope the local community will come down and enjoy what will be an exciting showcase of the sport.”
Tickets are £20 or £15 for under those aged 16 and under and can be purchased on the door, family tickets can also be purchased. Doors open at 12pm and boxing will take place between 1pm and on until late.
