Christ Church on North Street celebrated its Harvest Service last week with a display of fruit and vegetables, including 'Sid the snake' made from tromboncino. Donated fresh produce and money were given to two locally-run charities; Open Doors and United Exmouth Churches Ukraine Fund.
Lisa Pike, Executive Director for Open Doors, was there to accept nappies for the Baby Nest project, and fruit and vegetables for the community café, both run by the Exmouth based charity. Lisa spoke about increasing needs of families in the area and thanked the congregation for their support.
Financial donations of over £350 were also made to United Exmouth Churches Ukraine Fund, a multi-church initiative set up by Bishop Josep in April after a visit to the Ukrainian border. More than £3,000 has been raised in Exmouth so far to buy provisions and support mission work for Ukrainian families and churches on the Hungary/Ukraine border.
