Exmouth drama group The Talent Box performed another successful show – Cinderella - at the Blackmore Theatre on Wednesday, December 21.
The group comprises adults with learning disabilities, and is run by professional actor Jane O’Connell. Their last performance, Beauty and the Beast in July, received a standing ovation.
Jane told the Journal: “They now have such an audience following that this performance was not only a sell-out but they also had a waiting list for tickets.
“They were amazing and the audience loved it.
“Robert Hatley and Ethan Shapter as the Ugly Sisters, and Jayne Rawlinson as the Wicked Stepmother, had the audience booing and laughing simultaneously.
“Anthony Richardson made a handsome Baron Hard-Up. Andrew Howard was a fun and engaging Prince Charming, and Molly Bradley made a beautiful and endearing Cinderella.
“Chris Brown was a cheeky Buttons who sang his heart out, whilst Hannah Pooley and Nicki Slynn danced and sang with great energy, with a sparkling Debbie Reed as the Fairy Godmother.”
She thanked Cranford Sports Centre for providing the weekly rehearsal space.
