Temple Methodist Church, Budleigh Salterton formally opened and dedicated a new community garden last Saturday, (June 3).
The garden dedicated to peace in the world was inspired by the late Derrick Rowland, who campaigned for peace all his life, and opened by his family. Temple Church is grateful for contributions from local and national charities, the students of Bicton College and Green Studio Garden Design.
The Rev’ Wayne Grewcock said that the garden was a “space open for all to enjoy and reflect, not just on peace in the world but in our own lives as well.” He went on to say that “the garden is a wonderful enhancement to the Church and its work in the town through the on-site Wesley’s Community Café and Food Larder.”
