Local artist Gary Cook (street art name GARf) has been working with Exmouth Pavilion to paint life-sized murals of different dinosaurs on the building as part of the town's dinosaur trail.
The project took over a year from conception to completion, with lots of authorities needing to be on-side, but tying it in with the re-decoration of the theatre meant a clean surface for the murals to be drawn.
Once that had happened, Gary experimented with drawing the creatures and buying all the model dinosaurs and spraying them white, to put under a spotlight to experiment with creating shadows He then re-drew the shadows and put a square grid over them.
While the scaffolding went up at the Pavilion, he checked a dinosaur height chart and compared that with the wall spaces.
The mural came together with metre by metre squares on the wall and sketched out the monsters square by square.
You may also be able to spot hidden secrets on the murals, Gary's signature is hidden in the rocks. Another secret is the initials of the two pavilion decorators are hidden in the Triceratops.
Gary's work can be seen all around Exmouth. To celebrate the anniversary of Exmouth Rowing Club, Gary drew the mural you can see on their front door. He also drew the mural you see on the side of The Pilot Pub in Exmouth.
