FAILING to buy a ticket for a train journey has ended up costing a teenager more than 30 times what the fare costs.
Beau Gallop, 19, of Salisbury Road, Exmouth, was discovered at Lympstone Village Station by GWR staff when he did not have a ticket.
North Somerset Magistrates' Court heard this month that Gallop committed the offence on August 23 last year.
He had previously pleaded guilty in July to not buying an £11.20 ticket for his journey.
He was not in court this month to hear magistrates fine him £115 and order him to pay £11.20 compensation along with a £46 victim surcharge and a £180 contribution towards court costs.
Magistrates ruled that Gallop should pay his total court bill of £352.20 by September 11.
