The Adeos Duo, comprising Devonian violinist Joel Munday and Bulgarian violist Vanessa Hristova, will be presenting a very special programme at the Temple Methodist Church in Budleigh Salterton on Saturday, October 7, commencing at 7.30 pm.
Their exciting programme consists of music by Mozart, Bach, Hindemith and Martinu. There is no admission charge. There will be a retiring collection for Hospiscare. The concert is being promoted by Roger Hendy (MD Isca Ensemble) in association with the Dulce Haigh Marshall Trust (President Julian Lloyd Weber). The young musicians are completing their Post Graduate Studies at the Royal College of Music, London and have already established themselves as top-rate performers with international connections.
Violinist Joel Munday from Devon is swiftly building a career as a soloist and chamber musician. He maintains a busy concert schedule and has given concerts across Europe, America and Asia. Having won numerous top prizes at many international violin competitions, he now appears regularly as soloist with UK-based symphony and chamber orchestras.
Joel has been invited to festivals and mastercourses around the world including Encuentro de Musica de Santander XXI, Keshet Eilon Mastercourse, Bowdoin International Music Festival, New Virtuosi Mastercourse and others. He has been mentored by pedagogues and soloists such as Vadim Gluzman, Shmuel Ashkenazi, Hagai Shaham, Yuzuko Horigom and Nicola Benedetti. He is at present studying with the renowned violinist Daniel Rowland based in Holland.
Bulgarian violist Vanessa Hristova performs internationally as a soloist, chamber musician and principal violist and has appeared in many concert halls in London and Europe. Recently she received first prize at the XII International Music Competition Dobrich, second prize at the King's Peak Competition and was a finalist in the International Anton Rubinstein Viola Competition.
She has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Vladimir Jurowski, Sir Andrew Davis, Vasily Petrenko and Maxim Vengerov performing as Principal Violist of all the RCM Orchestras and the National School of Arts Varna Orchestra amongst others. She has attended on a scholarship the International Musicians Seminar Prussia Cove in the class of Lars Anders Tomter, where she got the chance to perform for HRH Prince Edward, the Duke of Kent and was subsequently invited to perform at Steven Isserlis’ special concert in London.
