Exmouth youth musical theatre company Centre Stage has been nominated for two Rosebowl Awards.
Its production of The Addams Family is among the nominations for Best Youth Production and cast member Joseph Lewis, who played Gomez Addams, is nominated for Best Actor in a Youth Production.
The awards recognise the best of amateur theatre in the South West region. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Bristol on November 26.
Chairman Mark Worsley said: “We are always delighted to be nominated and we will be heading to Bristol at the end of November, so wish us luck!”
Centre Stage has had a busy and successful summer, taking part in several events in the Exmouth area. Its West End and Broadway concert was staged at the Pavilion and the Shaftesbury Theatre in Dawlish.
The company also appeared at the Exmouth Festival and Last Night of the Proms with South-West Comms Band and Rotary, and was delighted to be asked to support the ABF Soldiers charity ‘Spirit of the Nation’ concert at Exeter Cathedral.
Last weekend at Budleigh Salterton Carnival, Centre Stage won 2nd place in their category and entertained the crowds with some songs from their upcoming production of Anything Goes.
The show will be at the Exmouth Pavilion from Tuesday, October 31 until Saturday, November 4. It's the 2022 version of the Cole Porter comedy, which had its script modernised but retains all the hit songs.
Tickets are now on sale and can be booked online or by ringing the box office on 01395 222477.
