New food hygiene ratings have been awarded to five of East Devon’s establishments, the Food Standards Agency’s website shows – and it’s good news for them all.
Restaurants, cafes and canteens
The following ratings have been given to four restaurants, cafes or canteens:
• Rated 5: Marcos Italian at 7 High Street, Budleigh Salterton; rated on October 11
• Rated 5: Fifty Degrees North at Salting Hill, Budleigh Salterton; rated on October 10
• Rated 5: MYCA'S at 33 Fore Street, Sidmouth; rated on October 9
• Rated 5: The Bagel Shop at The Eatery, Cross Lane, Sidmouth; rated on October 9
Takeaways
And one rating has been handed to a takeaway:
• Rated 5: China Banquet at 30 High Street, Budleigh Salterton; rated on October 12
Ratings are a snapshot of the standards of food hygiene found at the time of inspection. It is the responsibility of the business to comply with food hygiene law at all times.
The scheme gives businesses a rating from 5 to 0 which is displayed at their premises and online.
5 – hygiene standards are very good
4 – hygiene standards are good
3 – hygiene standards are generally satisfactory
2 – some improvement is necessary
1 – major improvement is necessary
0 – urgent improvement is required
