Budleigh Town Council has announced the events taking place in the town to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.
This year, a service will take place on Saturday, November 11 - There will be two minutes silence followed by prayers at the Budleigh Salterton War Memorial at 11am.
Sunday 12 November - The formal wreath-laying ceremony will be held at the Budleigh Salterton War Memorial, gathering at 1.45pm for a 2pm start.
The usual Service of Remembrance will take place at St Peter’s Church on the afternoon of Sunday 12 November starting at 2.45pm – attendees are asked to make their own way, safely, to St Peter’s Church.
Those who wish to lay a wreath should:
• Contact Poppy Appeal Organiser Jo Vanstone on 01395 446356
• State their organisation and any desired inscription on the wreath
• The cost of a wreath is £20 – cash or cheques payable to The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal
• All wreaths can be collected from the Poppy Shop which is in the former Dolphin Café in the High Street – the shop is open every day except Sundays between 10am and 1pm
