November is Mouth Cancer Action Month, and the dentists at Fairfield Dental Surgery are doing a free oral cancer screen for non-registered patients.
It takes place on Friday 17th November 5pm-6.30pm. No need to book please just turn up at 5pm. Let anyone know that you think may benefit.
The disease killed more than 3,000 people in 2021 - up 46%, from 2,075 a decade ago. Fairfield registered patients benefit from cancer screening as part of their regular examinations.
Mouth Cancer Action Month is held in November every year and is supported by the Mouth Cancer Foundation and the Oral Health Foundation. Get ready to raise awareness.
The Mouth Cancer Foundation is a charity dedicated to raising awareness and support for those suffering from or at risk of mouth cancer, throat cancer and other head and neck cancers, as well as providing assistance and information on living with mouth cancer for families, friends and carers.
Mouth cancer, also known as oral cancer, describes one of the areas where head and neck cancers can occur and includes various kinds of tumours affecting the lips, salivary glands, tongue, gums, palate and inside of the cheeks.
