An Exmouth care home managing director has been named 'Businesswoman of the Year'.
Staff and residents at Barchester’s Raleigh Manor Care Home in Exmouth are celebrating as their own Natasha Lazovic received the accolade in the Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards 2023.
The awards spotlight the extraordinary achievements of female leaders in social care, a workforce which is over 85 per cent female.
The winners were announced at a gala awards ceremony on November 21 at the London Marriott Grosvenor Square Hotel.
Ms Lazovic's career in social care began when she moved to the UK from Serbia in 1994 and started training as a nurse.
Her caring nature has fuelled an impressive career progression, scaling the ranks from registered nurse to managing director.
Ms Lazovic joined Barchester in 2014 as regional director, overseeing 10 homes.
This responsibility doubled as she ascended to senior regional director, and she is now at the helm of more than 80 care homes in Barchester’s South Division.
Barchester’s CEO, Dr Pete Calveley, said: "I could not be prouder of Natasha.
"She has had an amazing career and she is a shining example to all her teams that with hard work, you really can achieve anything.
"I have had the privilege of working alongside her for over 18 years now and there’s no one who deserves this award more.
"She is an exceptional leader and businesswoman."
Barchester, one of the UK’s largest care providers, has many care homes and hospitals, one of which is Raleigh Manor.
