A 14-year old boy has been arrested after a police car chase that started in Lympstone and ended in Exeter.
Patrol officers spotted a suspicious vehicle in Exmouth Road, Lympstone, at about 6.50pm on Wednesday evening (November 28).
The silver Vauxhall Astra failed to stop for the police and was driven off at speed through Ebford to Sandygate roundabout, heading into Sowton Industrial Estate and then Pinhoe.
At the junction between Chancel Lane and Venny Bridge the vehicle was in collision with a pedestrian, causing minor injuries to his foot. A marked police car was also rammed and badly damaged, but the officers were not hurt.
The car eventually stopped in Stemson Avenue, Pinhoe, at about 7.05pm and the driver ran off. A 14-year old boy was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop for police and driving without a licence or insurance. He has been released on bail until February 19 2024.
