Children at St Peter's Primary School have been designing posters with environmental messages for a competition sponsored by Budleigh Salterton Lions Club.
The school held a Recycling Week in November, with workshops by Suez Recycling and Recovery and a special assembly presented by the school's Eco Champions.
During the week Lions Richard and Sue visited the school to judge the posters and award prizes.
President Richard Allen said: "We were delighted to have the opportunity to sponsor this poster competition. Children are passionate about keeping their environment litter-free and we are keen to help and encourage them when we can.
"It was incredibly difficult to choose the six winning posters. All the posters had a fantastic message and were colourful and imaginative. I'm really looking forward to seeing the posters displayed around the town."
The Lions brought six bags of eco friendly items supplied by Budleigh Unwrapped as prizes - three each for upper Key Stage 2 and lower Key Stage 2.
St Peter's Eco Lead, Jemima Moore, said: “We're very grateful to Richard and the Budleigh Lions for sponsoring the poster competition and organising such brilliant eco prizes. It was exciting for children to have a competition to enter and is a great opportunity for them to share the recycling messages with the wider community. It was wonderful to have Sue and Richard to be part of our Recycling Week and present prizes.”

Budleigh Salterton Lions Club has already offered to sponsor the poster competition again next year and is doing similar competitions with other local schools.
