East Devon District Council (EDDC) is addressing residents' concerns over car park availability in Exmouth.
Increased demands were sparked by Devon County Council's expanded permit parking zone in the Colonies section of Exmouth, implemented last August.
The EDDC's £2 all-day Winter parking offer, effective till the end of March 2024, has seen significant uptake from district residents supporting local businesses.
An EDDC spokesperson said: "We apologise for any inconvenience that a lack of available car park spaces in Exmouth has caused this winter."
The council added changes to car parks or associated terms and conditions "require due process to be followed, so these cannot be carried out overnight".
Despite the impediment, the council assures that it has been closely monitoring the issue over the past two months and plans to create a timely solution.
Further information on EDDC's car parks and the winter parking offer can be found on the council's website.
