Hundreds of swimmers braved the cold to take a dip in the sea at Budleigh Salterton on Christmas Day.
The event took place at 10am on the seafront. Hundreds of swimmers donned their swimming costumes and Santa hats to brave the cold and take a dip in the sea.
The event takes place nearly every year in coastal towns. The event was cancelled during Covid because mass gatherings were not allowed. A similar swim in Sidmouth was cancelled because of insurance issues.
For those who took part, it was a short run or jog to the sea and participants dived into the freezing water. Thanks to Fran McElhorne for sending these pictures of the Christmas Day swim to the Journal.
