The 2023 Poppy Appeal raised £40,700 for the Royal British Legion, which will go to supporting troops and their families in the town.
Appeal Team Elsa Hutchings, Derek Allen and Pam Jasper said: "We would like to thank the exceedingly generous residents of and visitors to Exmouth over the recent Poppy Appeal.
"This year the sum of £40,700 has so far been raised with more expected which will be able to continue the good work that the Legion does to support ex forces personnel and their families in the town.
Over the last nine months, the Legion has made available over £16000 to local families to cover a range of needs, the main ones being medical and mobility, but the Legion is also there in times of immediate crisis to help with heating, debt and funeral costs as well as helping veterans to improve their circumstances by providing funds for training or help with interviews to name but a few.
They added: "We would also like to thank the band of brilliant volunteers who give their time willingly for such a brilliant cause, without them we could not continue to do this. Recognition must also go to the staff at Mark & Spencer and Tesco, particularly Lisa O’ Shaugnessy who made us so very welcome over the collection period."
