Panto season isn't over yet in Colaton Raleigh, where final rehearsals are under way for Dick Whittington.
The production by the Colaton Raleigh Players opens on Wednesday, February 14 - a possible Valentine's Day outing for anyone who hasn't made plans yet.
Alice Thomas takes the title role with confidence and thigh-slapping panache while, as Dolly Dumpling, Gavin Haines delivers the innuendo and hilarity that you’d expect from a panto dame. With ‘boos’ for Queen Rat Judith Constable and ‘ahhs’ for the crew of little ratlings, this show, directed by Chrissy Brimacombe, has something for everyone.
With accompaniment from the company’s new musical director Janet Evans, this strong cast of seasoned performers (with a couple of new faces) will serve up the slapstick and mayhem that Players’ audiences have come to expect.
Dick Whittington is at Colaton Raleigh Village from February 14 until Saturday, February 17th with performances starting at 7.30pm, plus a 2.30pm Saturday matinee. Tickets (£10 adults and £5 children) are available from 07843 136278.
