Police are trying to trace a man who told a member of the public in Topsham that he had been held at knifepoint by a man who'd offered to sell him a computer.
The passer-by said the man approached him on Wednesday, December 20 after the incident, which he said had happened in Majorfield Road between 10.20pm and 10.40pm. He said he had arranged to meet the seller after seeing the computer advertised on Facebook Marketplace. After describing what had happened he ran off.
Detective Inspector Guy Biggar said: “We are seeking to identify the alleged victim of this incident. It is believed that he may have travelled from outside of the Devon area to meet this person.
“Anyone who has information which can help us identify this person is asked to contact Devon and Cornwall Police via 101 or by visiting our website quoting 50240011968.”
