A chef at a prestigious hotel in Exmouth who cooked for the Hairy Bikers in their latest series has said it was a 'privilege' to have served lunch to the iconic TV duo.
Chef Patron Michael Caines of Lympstone Manor cooked for Si King and Dave Myers in the episode of The Hairy Bikers Go West, which aired last week.
Michael explained how special the moment felt, especially since Dave sadly passed away on Wednesday, February 28, just weeks after the first episode of the latest series aired.
"The Hairy Bikers Dave and Si's visit to Lympstone Manor, here in Devon, was a very special event and occasion for us all," Michael said.
"I’ve enjoyed working with them both on a number of occasions but have never had the privilege to cook for them.
"This also felt very special, especially as it was journeys end for filming this series, and we were able to raise and share a glass together.
"It hard to think that Dave is no longer with us, but his memory lives on through his work and it feels very special to know we were able to share those moments together, making it all the more precious.
"A fitting tribute to Dave's life, thanks for letting me be part of it."
