A fundraising concert in aid of Open Door Exmouth will feature the unusual combination of a poet and a singer-songwriter.
The charity gig, scheduled for April 26, sees David Woolger and Mark Waistell team-up.
Both local figures to Exmouth, Mr Woolger's poems are a familiar sight in local cafés and arts venues around town.
His last collection, Into the South Westerly, generated funds for the Open Door Centre.
The singer-songwriter, Mr Waistell, is known for his recently released album, For A Sonnet Or A Shilling.
Folk Cast lauds his guitar skills and serene vocals.
The Open Door Centre offers support for individuals struggling with a myriad of issues including housing, relationships, addiction, mental health, financial crisis, and unemployment, amongst others.
Their provision extends to facilitating services such as The Haven for young people, Men’s Shed, Parent Hub, and a community café.
The gig is expected to explore a variety of themes including love and loss, childhood, the seasons, England and Exmouth.
Entry is free but attendees are encouraged to donate to the Open Door Centre.
The curtain raises at 7pm, with doors opening 30 minutes prior at the Open Door Centre on Church Street.
