Exmouth's Fire Station's specialist rescue team helped rescue a horse stuck in a ditch in Sticklepath yesterday afternoon (April 15).
An all-terrain vehicle and the telehandler from the Urban Search and Rescue station made their way to a horse stuck in a water-filled ditch at around 4pm. The horse was at a remote location from the stables. A vet was also in attendance.
At around 6.30pm the 15-hand horse was rescued, but crews stood by for a short period following the rescue to assist the vet if required. The horse escaped unharmed from the ditch.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service were called on Monday afternoon (April 15) and were joined by crews from Okehampton and Clyst St Mary, as well as the specialist rescue team from Exmouth.
