Water bottle refill stations in Exmouth will be back to working order soon, it has been confirmed.
An Exmouth Town Council spokesperson said: "Due to extreme cold weather earlier in the year the water refill stations located outside M&S and Sideshore were perished.
"Parts have been on order for some time and we are expecting them next week in order for the engineer to replace and service the stations.
"We are hoping the water stations will be working again very soon afterwards."
The refill stations, installed in January 2022, were part of a mission to reduce plastic waste.
Councillor Steve Gazzard, who was mayor at the time of installation, said: "Not only will [the refill stations] help us reduce single-use plastic bottles, but also promote healthier lifestyles by ensuring we drink plenty of fresh clean water."
Sideshore venue manager Simon Findel-Hawkins added: "The Sideshore team are delighted to be working with the local council and community to highlight the importance of eliminating single-use plastics, which can be extremely detrimental to our beautiful surrounding environment".
