A coffee morning hosted by Budleigh Salterton Baptist Church has raised more than £360 for The Caregivers Support Trust.
The Trust supports unpaid family caregivers in South American countries, particularly Santa Marta in Colombia, through the local charity Heroínas en la Sombra - which translates as Unsung Heroines.
In Colombia there is little or no support for people with a disabled family member, and professional care is too expensive for most families. The charity aims to reduce the carers' loneliness and isolation by creating social networks and supporting their emotional wellbeing.
It hopes to eventually set up a Community Caring Centre which will provide respite for them.
The coffee morning was attended by 27 people who contributed towards the fundraising, and there was a donation of £81 from Exmouth's Victoria Road Baptist Church.
