Dan Wilson has been announced as the independent candidate standing for the Exmouth and East Exeter seat at the next election.

Mr Wilson says he will stand for residents to continue the fight to end sewage in the sea, rivers and streams, campaign for social and affordable housing, employment opportunities, local businesses, healthcare, infrastructure and equal rights and vote independently, for the interests of the constituency.

Dan says that as an independent candidate, he is not constrained by a party line which frees him up to focus on local issues and do what is best.

Dan is a self employed tradesman, that has lived in Exmouth for more than half his life.  He got involved in local politics because he believes in public service and is passionate about where we live.

Dan is currently a district and town councillor as well as a governor at his daughter's school. He says "I love working with the many talented, committed people, groups and organisations we have here, to make lasting change."

"If I can get as many votes as there are potholes in our roads, then I can be the candidate that stops the decay and shows the imagination and ambition that sees this constituency reach its full potential for the benefit of all of us.

"East Devon has given me a home, family and happiness and I want to give back.  This is a wonderful place to live - but it could be even better.

"How can anyone represent us if they don't breathe our air, know our problems or share our concerns.  If they don't know our history, how can they have a plan for our future.

"It is time for one of us to represent all of us. I am offering you something different.

"If you are passionate about making positive progress through collective action, then we share the same goals and ideals. My offer to you is a positive, locally driven future, that you can be part of and proud of. I need your help and support, so that together we can create a constituency that works for all of us."
