At the Annual Town Council meeting, held on May 13, Councillor Joe Whibley was elected as chairman and mayor of Exmouth Town Council for the coming year.
Councillor Steve Gazzard was elected as vice chairman and deputy mayor. Councillor Joe Whibley represents Town Ward and has served as chair of the panning committee for the last twelve months.
Councillor Whibley said: “I am delighted to have been asked to take on the role of Mayor and Chairman of the Town Council and I would like to thank Councillor Olly Davey for doing a great job last year. I am looking forward to representing the Town.”
The Annual Town Council meeting also included a review of the terms of reference and delegation arrangements for the Council’s committees and working parties, and of the Council’s representation on outside bodies.
