A COLLEGE in Devon is set to launch a new agritech facility.
Bicton College, which is in East Devon, is opening a new Agritech Advanced Engineering Centre in September.
The centre will help to meet the 'growing needs' of the agricultural technology sector and provide training opportunities that aren't currently available in the area. It will include the latest technology and equipment.
The centre will offer bespoke apprenticeships that will cater to students across the UK.
“Alongside the exciting new facility, Bicton College is also introducing a flexible block delivery model for its land-based engineering apprenticeship programmes,” explained Ed Parrish, director of land-based operations.
“This innovative approach not only minimises disruptions for employers but also provides a more immersive learning experience for apprentices, ensuring that our graduates are equipped with the latest technological skills to drive innovation and excellence in the sector."
Bicton College is part of the Cornwall College Group and specialises in land-based educational courses that are practical and hands-on.
