Reform UK has announced Gary Sutherland as their parliamentary candidate for Exmouth and Exeter East.
Garry Sutherland says he is a 'Husband, father and patriot' who has served in the British Army as a former bomb disposal officer. He had been an Army veteran for 23 years and formerly worked as a technical advisor to the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Joint Force Intelligence Group.
Mr Sutherland is a keen sportsman, having become one of the youngest people to summit Mont Blanc at the age of 17.
His party also says he has run a mile in 4m 33sec, completed two summits of Kilimanjaro, reached Everest base camp, has a 2023 European Indoor rowing silver medal, set an age best Indoor Rowing British Championship record for 500m sprint, coached the 2020 English National Men's and ladies' 3k Relay team Gold medallists, and has achieved 18 Gold medals as a performance coach.
Other candidates announced for Exmouth and East Exeter include; Paul Arnott, Liberal Democrats, David Reed, Conservatives, Dan Wilson, Independents, Olly Davey, Green Party and Helen Dallimore for Labour.
