Exmouth Quakers is encouraging everyone to 'celebrate the richness and diversity of Exmouth community' as part of Refugee week.

Taking place from June 17th to June 23. Local businesses around Exmouth town are exhibiting two poems by Exmouth poet, David Woolger.

David says it is a great honour to be invited to share his poems as part of this celebration. The poems will be available to read in local cafes around Exmouth for the month of June.

David Woolger, 76, suffers from schizophrenia, and has always had a passion for the arts, he started writing poetry when he was receiving therapy for schizophrenia at Wonford House in Exeter.  

David writes about his experiences and his love for Exmouth – one poem called ‘56’ he wrote while on his way home on the bus, he observed a baby crying with his mother.
