Exmouth's Centre Stage has been awarded a Best Youth Theatre trophy by the National Operatic and Dramatic Association.
Mark Worsley says the team is delighted with the recent, tremendous news, in recognition of the challenging work the cast and creative team so fabulously deserve.
After the company’s phenomenally successful production of Shrek! The Musical in April 2023, the National Operatic and Dramatic Association (NODA) awarded Centre Stage the trophy for Best Youth Company singing in the South-West.
The company is delighted with the award, and sadly as none of the company were able to attend the award ceremony and are looking forward to receiving it from our Noda rep, Lyn Burgoyne, soon.
The company travelled to Cheltenham on Tuesday May 28, to dance in the semi- finals of the All-England Dance Festival and again is thrilled to have been awarded silver in the Musical Theatre section.
Performing the powerful “You Will Be Found” from Dear Evan Hansen, the company’s Artistic Director, Sue Bonnett, said “it was an emotional performance, captivating the audience with sincerity and commitment. We were told the adjudicators had a tear!
Centre Stage are currently in rehearsal for their summer touring production of the swashbuckling Pirates of Penzance, which will be seen at the Exmouth Pavilion on 4th July.
