Scarecrows have already started to appear ahead of the East Budleigh Scarecrow Festival this weekend.

East Budleigh's annual Scarecrow Festival takes place this weekend (Saturday June 8 to June 9).

A display of scarecrows was created and displayed by village residents using their wit and invention, there are plenty of activities and refreshments to enjoy.

The Village Hall will provide refreshments from 11am and 4pm each day, along with stalls featuring local crafts and activities, cakes, pre-loved books, and plants.

The ‘Roger Conant Duck Race' also took place on Saturday and Sunday.

Businesses also donated prizes to be won. To win a prize, visitors and residents head to the ticket station. Organisers thank Gilbert Stephens Solicitors for sponsoring the event.

At the church, knitted garments will be created to send to Moldova with the charity CR2EE.

There was also a chance to go up the bell tower and try your hand at bell ringing on both afternoons between 2 and 4pm.
