Pizza for breakfast is on the menu at Prezzo in Exmouth after the restaurant chain launched a new dish based on the ‘full English’.

The ‘Breakfast Pizzulata’ is a pocket of pizza dough with fillings including Egg & Bacon, Egg & Sausage, Egg & Avocado and the Meaty Pizzulata, filled with The Jolly Hog™ bacon, sausage and ricotta.  Each Pizzulata also contains creamy ricotta, rocket and house Calabrese ketchup.

Also on the menu is the new Full Italiano which includes The Jolly Hog™ bacon and sausage, fried free-range eggs, roasted tomatoes and mushrooms, served alongside a cannellini bean ragu, Calabrese ketchup and tasty toasted focaccia bread.

For those with a sweet tooth, the new Dolce Pizzulata is filled with sliced banana, ricotta, and dusted with powdered sugar and served with Nutella™.

A Prezzo’s breakfast deal offers one of the new Pizzulatas and any Italian Illy coffee for £10.

There’s also a new Bambini Breakfast range for children, which features smaller portions of the new Pizzulata and Full Italiano from as little as £4. A popular choice is the Bambini Dolce Pizzulata, a smaller version of the sweet pocket, paired with banana and Nutella™.

Prezzo said its new range means ‘diners can enjoy the bringing together of Italy’s favourite dish and a traditional English breakfast’.

Olly Smith, Chief Culinary Officer at Prezzo, said: “As a food team, we’ve spent many early mornings scouring markets across Italy, venturing from cities in the North all the way to the South. With our mission to share the joy of Italian dining, it’s here where we were inspired to bring together Italian breakfast – consisting of espressos and plenty of conversation – with traditional British breakfast staples.

“Pizzulatas are a great example of that; a pocket of our hand shaped, slowly proven dough, baked in a pizza oven, filled with Ricotta and our spicy Calabrese ketchup, then made yours with a choice of brilliant bangers, bacon, fried eggs and more.  Breakfast done right, our way!”
