A cricket match will be played on Pole Sands, Exmouth, between Exmouth Freemasons and the RNLI this Saturday, July 20.

The game, taking place between 11am and 2pm, will raise funds for Exmouth RNLI, Sailability at Exmouth Sailing Club, and Exmouth NCI. Exmouth RNLI and Exmouth Sailing Club will each receive 45 per cent of the money raised, with 10 per cent going to Exmouth NCI.

The event also aims to raise awareness of safety at sea.

While access to Pole Sands is not restricted, the organisers are advising spectators to watch the game from Exmouth beach, or from an elevated position on the first view of Ocean, or the Harbour View seating area. People are being asked not to watch from boats that will block the view of those on the beach.

The match is free to view, but Exmouth Freemasons are asking for donations of just £2 to support their fundraising. Donations can be made by visiting https://exmouthfreemasons.org/pole-sands-challenge-donation/ or using the link on their Facebook page.

The trophy for the winning team was designed and crafted by The Men’s Shed Exmouth from driftwood and recycled timber. It is currently on display in The Beach Pub.
