From legendary musicians to former EastEnders actors, celebrities have been flocking to Devon this summer.

Whether for headlining gigs or car-fuelled festivals, many celebrities have enjoyed the Devon sunshine this summer.

But these are the top five famous faces to have been spotted in Devon so far this summer.

1.    Tom Jones

One of the biggest local events to take place this summer, the Plymouth Summer Sessions attracted some of the world’s biggest musicians to Devon.

Among the A-list musicians who performed at the event, which took place for four days in June at the Plymouth Hoe, was headlining act Tom Jones.

The Welsh singing legend is best known for timeless hits like ‘It’s Not Unusual’ and ‘Sex Bomb’ and has sold more than 100 million records in an illustrious career.

Also known for his role as a judge on ITV show The Voice, Jones was knighted in 2006 and lucky fans were able to see Sir Tom perform in Devon on the first day of the summer sessions event.

2.    Sting

Another celebrity singer who performed in Devon as part of the Plymouth Summer Sessions was Sting.

Sting, one of the world’s most distinctive and celebrated solo artists, has enjoyed a remarkably successful career – both solo and with The Police.

Sting performed some of his best-loved hits in Plymouth, including legendary tracks like ‘Fields of Gold’.

Joining Sting on stage was more musical royalty in Blondie, the iconic group featuring Debbie Harry.

3.    Ricky Groves

Former EastEnders star Ricky Groves was recently in Devon to take part in a celebrity charity football match.

Groves, who is best known for his role playing the lovable Garry Hobbs in Eastenders between 2000-2009, also appeared on Strictly Come Dancing.

This July, however, the actor, aged 56, was taking to the football pitch in Bideford to participate in a football match for charity.

Hobbs appeared in Bideford alongside other celebrities like fellow Eastenders star Dean Gaffney.

4.      Gok Wan

Fashion consultant, television presenter and DJ, Gok Wan was recently spotted in Devon, performing as part of the Celebration of Speed festival.

The festival, hosted by celebrity chef Michael Caines, took place in July at the stunning Lympstone Manor in Devon.

Wan was one of multiple well-known names to perform at the evening event, ‘Party in the Paddock’, performing his DJ set to the delight of those who attended.

Wan has presented a number of Chinese cooking shows as well as a series of documentaries on social problems facing young people.
