South West Water (SWW) says they have laid a temporary pipe and are working on a 'permanent repair' at Exmouth's Maer Lane pumping site.
On Tuesday (August 13 ) a sewage pipe burst in a field near the Maer Lane pumping station in Exmouth, a 'no bathing' warning was issued which is still in place now.
Tankers have stopped transporting away from the site. but SWW says they will remain on site while the work is completed.
The Environment Agency and EDDC are aware of and monitoring the incident. It was EDDC who issued the 'no bathing' warning.

A spokesman for SWW said: "Our teams have been working around the clock in Exmouth to repair the burst pipe from Maer Road pumping station at Maer Lane. We are pleased to say that we have now completed the temporary fix, and the pipe is up and running, and we can now begin planning the permanent repair.
"However, tankers will remain on site as a precaution. We would like to thank residents and visitors for their patience, and we are sorry for any disruption caused throughout this event.
"We continue to update the Environment Agency so that they can take the appropriate steps to protect the environment and public health."
