This year's Budleigh Salterton Flower and Produce Summer Show was held at the Public Hall on 10th August.

Chairman Robert Wiltshire said: "Although entries were of a high standard, numbers were significantly down. This was almost entirely due to the unfavorable weather conditions and the resulting war with slugs and snails, particularly affecting the horticultural entries."

The following awards were made

  • Mrs Gordon Johnson Cup for roses. 
  • Gillian Eastwood. Mrs Norrish Cup for flowers/miniature garden - jointly Sarah J ones and Julie Jefferies.
  • Mrs Hawkes Cornack Cup for fruit - jointly Susan Lacey and the Seachange Community Allotment.
  • Mrs Folker Cup for vegetables.
  • Bob Wiltshire. Gift token for best vegetable exhibit. 
  • David Waddington. Britain in Bloom Cup for best foliage entry.
  • Bob Wiltshire. Leach Cup for Master Gardener - Bob Wiltshire. Lady Dulce Scott Cup for the best entry in cut flowere and plants. 
  • Sue Glover. Miss Bourne Cup for most points in store cupboard entries. 
  • Susan Lacey. Gift token for best store cupboard entry - Shirley Keen. Gift token for best Junior Bake Off entry. 
  • Thea Lisle. Garden Society Trowel for best new entrant in horticulteral classes. 
  • Claire Stewart. RHS Banksian Medal for most points in horticulteral classes - David Waddington.
