A by-election to vote for a new councillor to the Exmouth Town ward was held on Thursday (September 5).
Two candidates for Labour and the Liberal Democrats stood for election, and Lib Dem Diane Conduit won with 373 votes. Labour candidate Julie Bennett got 224 votes.
East Devon District Council hosted it to find a new Town Councillor for Exmouth Town Council (Town Ward) on Thursday 5 September 2024.
Jill Humphreys, the Deputy Returning Officer said: I, at the above election, do hereby give notice that the number of votes recorded for each Candidate at the said election is as follows:
"Number of Votes* BENNETT, Julie D, The Labour Party 224 CONDUIT, Dianne A, Liberal Democrats 373 Elected
"The number of ballot papers rejected 0. being unmarked or wholly void for uncertainty 10 E rejected in part 0
"Total 10 Vacant Seats: 1 Electorate: 6003 Ballot Papers Issued: 607 Turnout: 10.1 per cent."
Residents voted at the following polling stations All Saints Church Hall, Exeter Road, and Exmouth, Baptist Church, 8 Victoria Road, Exmouth.
