A shop in Woodbury was left with minor smoke damage after a chip pan fire on Thursday night.
Crews were called at around 7pm on September 12 to a chip pan fire at a retail building in Woodbury.
Two crews from Exeter (Danes Castle and Middlemoor) and a crew from Exmouth attended after reports of a chip pan fire in the kitchen of a shop. Crews from stations across Exeter and Exmouth were mobilised. On arrival crews requested a second fire engine from Exmouth.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "Crews used the following equipment to extinguish the fire: Two breathing apparatus, One hose reel jet, One safety jet, One positive pressure ventilation fan, Thermal imaging camera, Three portable fire extinguishers."
The cause was accidental, with damage confined to the fryer with minor smoke damage to the rest of the building.
