Exmouth Men's Shed, one of six services run by Open Door Exmouth, is celebrating its 10th anniversary this week.
To commemorate this milestone, the Shed recently held a celebratory breakfast and photoshoot, reflecting on its journey and achievements over the past ten years.
Founded in January 2014, Exmouth Men's Shed has grown from a small group of like-minded individuals into a vibrant community hub where men of all ages come together to work on projects, share skills, and support each other.
The Shed has become a cornerstone for many, offering a space for social interaction, skill-sharing, and a sense of purpose.
Reflecting on the next ten years of Men's Shed, Tim Chappell said 'Exmouth Men's Shed is actively recruiting new members to join their volunteer team.'
They are particularly keen to welcome men in their 50s and 60s who are looking for a fulfilling way to give back to the community, stay active, and make new friends.
New volunteers will have the opportunity to contribute their skills and ideas to help develop and expand the Shed’s activities and outreach.
Peter Banks, leader of Exmouth Men's Shed said: “We are incredibly proud of what we have achieved over the past decade.
"But we are even more excited about the future. We have big plans for the Shed, and we are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join us on this journey and help shape the next chapter of our story.”
Exmouth Men's Shed is an Open Door service, providing a community space in Littleham where men can connect, learn, and contribute to local projects.
The Shed aims to combat loneliness and isolation by providing a friendly and inclusive environment where men can share their skills, make new friends, and support one another.
