Plans to demolish 10 Marine Parade on Budleigh seafront, and build four new apartments in its place, has been submitted to planning officers.
Document 24/1832/FUL involves replacing the existing single-family dwelling and creating four apartments.
The comment section allows residents to express their views on the plans, which will be reviewed before a decision is made.
As from this morning (October 2) 10 residents have objected the idea, with many of them saying 'this is unnecessary destruction to an original and perfectly sound house.'
The application says that the new four flats will 'deliver additional accommodation on the site and secure energy efficiency.'
'The design of the replacement scheme enables highly energy-efficient design as well as more efficient use of space compared to the existing building.
'The scheme has been designed to extend the characteristics and positive attributes of the Conservation Area.'
Ms Chloe Fox said: "This beautiful Victorian house is part of the aesthetic and visual fabric of Budleigh Salterton, it's more than a house, it's congruent and contemporary in time with the other Conserved buildings, sits within the East Devon National Landscape and to demolish it will deprive future generations of its beauty and victorian construction."
You can also comment on the application, before it is reviewed by East Devon District Council planning officers and a decision to approve or refuse it.
