The Octagon on Exmouth seafront opened on Saturday, as a takeaway and sit-in restaurant.
An official ribbon cutting ceremony took place at 12pm on Saturday (September 28), cutting the ribbon was Scott Jordan, the builder in charge of the re-development and John Sharland, who built the original Octagon in 1964.
The takeaway section served customers from 1pm after the ribbon-cutting ceremony. The restaurant opens from 5.30pm but is now sold out.

The Octagon also offered free Weeniee ice cream with every hot drink sold between 1pm and 3pm to be collected your free coffee voucher.
Speaking on the opening, owner of The Octagon said: "To open it on Saturday, we had Scott Jordan who redeveloped the Octagon to what we see today and John Sharland on the right who built the Octagon in 1964.
"I couldn’t think of 2 better people to cut the Ribbon and officially open the Octagon on 28th September 2024
"The sun was shining and the 70 invited guests saw the Octagon at its best. Blue skies and sunshine: everyone had a guided tour inside. Some nibbles from our Chef teams . A glass of Prosecco and all received a Golden ticket.
"The Octagons first service was Dinner from 5.30pm to 11pm and was sold out … A great evening with a new team and we received raving reviews."
